Let’s Talk Shows

I spend more time than I would like to admit looking for great things to watch. Normally, I look to lists for great shows. I continually get the same b.s. recommendations over and over again. These lists are reserved for the sterile variety of shows like “Grey’s Anatomy” or “Modern Family”.  They never highlight the intelligent, thrilling, well written and brilliantly casted shows.

Shows like, “The Wire”, “Breaking Bad”, or “Mad Men” are grossly overrated and boring. “Game of Thrones” is always a favorite, although, some the episodes are bad as well. Quality T.V.  has surged during the last 10 years (cinematic quality that is).

Lets celebrate my winners

There is so much material available that it’s hard to easily keep up with everything available.  I have a great idea. I’ll share the things that I have thoroughly enjoyed.  Many of these shows do not get their just rewards, so let’s celebrate them here!

  • American Crime
American Crime (not to be confused with Ryan Murphy's FX series, American Crime Story) is an Emmy-award-winning anthology drama that tackles thorny issues of race, gender, politics, and class with a clear-eyed intensity. Created by John Ridley, Oscar-winning screenwriter of 12 Years a Slave, and anchored by a talented cast that includes Regina King, Felicity Huffman, and Timothy Hutton, this series is a raw punch in the gut.
